S.L.P. "Maple Pancake" Duo Snare Drum is a unique additional snare. It features shallower 4" depth, 5mm/6 ply Maple shell, EVANS® EMAD Drumhead on its batter side and beautiful Maple Syrup finish. Combining the larger diameter of 16 inches and EVANS® EMAD Drumhead provides a fat sound with moderately cut overtones. Equipped with floor tom legs and brackets, this snare is usually put at the floor tom position or next to the hi-hat stands. These unique setups allow drummers to explore ideas and create new patterns and fills they might never have considered with traditional components.

The full, powerful character and rich resonance were achieved by utilizing carefully selected maple shells and focusing intently on shell molding and the bearing edge shape.

Floor Tom Bracket & Leg

The Duo snare drum is equipped with floor tom legs and brackets. You can tune this drum low and place it where the first floor tom would traditionally go. As such, the snare can function as a low/deep snare with the snare wires engaged, or as a 16" floor tom with the snares off. This can lead to many unique phrasing opportunities and voices behind the kit.

Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wire

Despite the larger diameter of 16”, its Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wire provides higher sensitivity and a brighter, crisper tone.

EVANS® EMAD™ Drum Head (Batter Side)

This snare drum uses an EVANS® EMAD™ drum head on its batter side. Equipped with a urethane mute ring, it provides a fat sound with moderately cut overtones.
