Honoring the Storied Career of Peter Erskine
TAMA is both excited and proud to congratulate Peter Erskine on his induction into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame for 2022. With an array of credits and accomplishments too numerous to list, Peter has been a notable presences in drumming since his storied career got under way in 1972. His work spans multiple decades and multiple genres, working with the likes of musical greats like Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Chick Corea, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Farrell, Jaco Pastorius, and George Cables, and that’s truly just the tip of the iceberg. Peter’s drumming can also be heard in movies such as “Memoirs of a Geisha,” all three of the Austin Powers movies, “The Secret Life of Pets,” “The Adventures of Tintin.” He also played the jazz drumming cues on the Academy Award-winning soundtrack for “La La Land,” and can be heard playing on the scores for “Sing,” “Logan” and “House of Cards.” Peter's influence in the drumming community is undeniable, and TAMA is incredibly proud to see him receive this well-deserved recognition.
